For stakeholders

For reviewers

Someone invited you to review a prototype and give feedback with Hot Takes. There's nothing separate to install — the feedback tool lives inside the beta build you already have. Here's how it works.

Enrolling (first time only)

Open the prototype and find the floating Hot Takespill (some projects use a shake gesture instead — see below). Tap it, and the first time you'll:

  1. Enter your email address.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code we email you.
  3. Set a display name (how your feedback is attributed to the team).

That's it — no password, no account. Your device is remembered afterward, so you go straight to capturing next time.

Finding the capture trigger

Most projects show a small floating pill you can drag around the screen and tap to start a capture. If the designer set the project up for demo day, it may instead be a shake gesture — just shake the device to bring up the capture options.

Taking a screenshot capture

  1. Trigger a capture and choose a screenshot — it snapshots the current screen.
  2. Annotate it: draw with the pen, add arrows or boxes to point at things, and undo if you overshoot.
  3. Optionally add a typed note.
  4. Optionally record a short voice clip (up to 2 minutes) to explain in your own words.
  5. Send — it goes straight to the project team.

Recording your screen

  1. Trigger a capture and choose screen recording. A short countdown starts you off.
  2. Everything visible on the prototype's screen is recorded, along with your microphone — so narrate as you go.
  3. Stop when you're done.
  4. Preview the recording before you send, and optionally add a note.

What gets sent, and to whom

Your captures go to the project team— the people who invited you — not the public. Basic device and app context (device model, OS version, app version) is attached automatically so the team can reproduce what you saw. You won't see other reviewers' feedback, and there's no gallery on your side: the tool is submit-only.

Privacy basics

During a screen recording your microphone is live the whole time and your voice is recorded into the video. If you'd rather not be heard, use a screenshot with a typed note instead, or stay silent while recording. The Privacy Policy has the full picture of what 's collected.

Being removed from a project

The project owner can remove you from a project. If that happens, your device's access to thatproject ends — you won't be able to submit new captures there. It doesn't affect any other project you review.
